Last week was an exciting one for basketball in the county, culminating in the cross-county class between TC and Belmont.
In varsity action, the TC girls continued a hot week with a 72-61 win over Belmont. Standout Reese Moore had 29 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists, reported Coach Bryan Middleton.
Senior Lila Sanderson also had a great night with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 steals against Belmont. Abbi Reed and Zarelli Ozuna added 9 points each, Reed proving her worth with multiple 3-pointers.
Earlier in the week, Reese Moore set a school record with 40 points against Saltillo in a 63-37 win, reported Middleton.
Monday night, the Lady Braves traveled to Heritage Academy in Columbus and won 54-44.
The boys were not so lucky, and came away from the Belmont game with a 75-60 loss, after a loss at Saltillo 85-36.
The TC JV teams did manage wins over Belmont: girls 21-9 and boys 45-26.
