Tishomingo County High Braves Football pulled off a major upset, defeating the Kossuth Aggies in overtime for a 14 -7 victory. The Braves were the first to get the ball in overtime when Hunter Stuart scored a touchdown, putting the Braves up by 7 after the field goal.

The Aggies then had their turn to score, but their offense could not make that happen against the strong, defensive team Braves team.

For the second season in a row, the Braves have a 3-0 record to start the season.

According to MaxPreps, the Braves started the season with a 3-0 record in 2016.

Coach Cory Quinn is starting his third season at TCHS with great momentum going into Homecoming against Mooreville. He has a new coaching staff and is working hard to change the football program. This is his 11th season coaching.

The Braves battled the Aggie's defense and torrential rain at times but persevered to bring home the win with a celebration in the mud after the game.

Coach Quinn even took a moment to roll onto the field pumped from the victory.

"I'm really proud of the way our players fought in adverse conditions and found a way to win the game," Coach Quinn said. "The culture we've built here is special. Our goal is to go 1-0 every week, and we hope to continue our streak this week on homecoming!"

The Braves will kick off against Mooreville under the Friday Night Lights. There is sure to be excitement in the air, and a crowd will be in the stands to cheer them on and celebrate the 2024 Homecoming. The Court will be presented at halftime, and the Queen will be announced at that time.
