Betty Jane Sims, 78, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at her residence. She was born on August 4, 1944, to Reverend James and Ocene Whitehead. She was a member of New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Betty loved spending time sewing, camping, and riding four-wheelers. Throughout her life she was a caregiver to many of her beloved family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church with Brother Jack Whitley officiating. Burial will be in the New Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Becky Moak (Mike), Patsy Sims, and Sandy Reeder (Lance); her son, Kenny Sims (April); her adopted daughter, Wanda Driscoll; her brother, Jim Whitehead (Lanna); ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Hugh Sims; her son-in-law, Mike Dalton; her brother, Ronnie Whitehead; and her two sisters, Eloise McAnally and Lynn Stephens.
Honorary pallbearers are Mark McAnally, Daniel Stephens, Matthew Stephens, Blake Arnold, Ryan Wood, and Eddie Henry.
