Private First Class Caleb Wayne Michael, 20, of Corinth, Mississippi, was called home on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Caleb enjoyed wrestling, football, swimming, being outdoors and shooting guns. He loved going to the gym with his friends, spending time with his family, loved animals of all kinds, and riding his motorcycle. Caleb also received his GED before joining the United States Army, where he achieved the rank of PFC and just recently finished Air Assault School. He is survived by his wife, Valentina Michael; his parents, Timothy and Rebecca Michael; his grandparents, Helen Maxwell, Jerry Newcomb, and Dottie Newcomb; his sisters, Tara Casillas (Johnathon), Heather Sanders, Madilynn Michael, and LeeAnn Martin; his brother, Andrew Lopez; his nephews, Knox Casillas and Wade Bohdi; and his best friend, Kyler Pierre. Caleb was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy Maxwell. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, Mississippi is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 21, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen, Mississippi. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, Mississippi. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Corinth National Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be the United States Army. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
