Tishomingo County School District Superintendent Christie Holly wants to thank the 2022-2023 Superintendent Student Advisory Council for their willingness to serve and to offer ideas for improving the district.
The group gives insight about student perspectives concerning school performance and opportunities. The council members are recommended by administration at each school in grades 9-12 and include students from Belmont High School and Tishomingo County High School. Also, two council members must be students at the Tishomingo County Career and Technical Center.
“This year’s council has been outstanding. They have offered suggestions that will improve the student experience in our schools, and I look forward to working with our board and administration to implement their suggestions,” said Superintendent Christie Holly. “I truly enjoy meeting with them and hearing about school and learning from their perspective. We have extremely bright, creative students in our district, and to hear their ideas and perspectives helps us gauge how we are meeting our vision to ensure excellence for all students.”
The council meets once quarterly and discusses various topics concerning day-to-day school operation, classroom instruction, and ideas for the future. This council has helped with ideas for extracurricular activities, policies, facility improvements, and district/school promotion ideas.
