Edward M Thompson, 87, of Iuka, Mississippi passed away on December 24, 2022, in Iuka. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Lorraine Thompson on December 13, 1935. Edward Thompson served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Memphis Fire Department for 25 years.
Edward Thompson was preceded in death by his mother Lorraine Thompson and his son Marty Thompson.
Edward Thompson is survived by his wife Betty Thompson of Iuka, Mississippi; granddaughter Veronica Cooper, husband Tommy Cooper, and great-grandchildren Ian, Brandon, Georgia, and Anthony. Also, grandson Christopher Sawyer, wife Elizabeth Sawyer, and great-grandchildren Betty and Christopher Jr.
Services will be held on December 30, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home at 5595 Poplar in Memphis, Tennessee with a visitation to begin at 1 p.m.
