A Celebration of Life Service for Frances Lee Blakney, 81 of Iuka, Mississippi was Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Reaching Out for Souls Ministries in Burnsville, Mississippi with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Wilbert Reed will officiate the service with Tony and Jason Blakney delivering the eulogies. Mrs. Blakney passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 at her residence. She was born May 13, 1942 in Corinth, Mississippi to Archie O. Isbell and Opal Curtis Isbell. She was the minister of Reaching Out for Souls Ministries for 44 years. She enjoyed camping, shopping and traveling. She loved preaching, singing with her sisters and spending time with her family.
Frances is survived by her husband of 61 years, Lester Blakney, Jr; her sons, Tony Blakney and Jason Blakney (Jennifer); her daughters, Tammie Rooker (Johnny), Patricia Woodruff (Kenny), Regina Brown (Richard), Carla McKinney (Charlie) and Charity Blakney (Malerie); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Barnes and David Barnes (Denise); sisters, Shirley Kiddy (George) and Kim Campbell; daughter-in-law, Debbie Poindexter; other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Danny Joe Poindexter; her daughter, Lana Woodruff; her father, Archie O. Isbell; her mother, Opal Curtis Isbell and her sisters, Mary Faye Baldwin, Wanda Sue Gilbert, Elizabeth Lambert, Johnnie Harville and Debra King. Pallbearers will be Ryan Blakney, Nathan Gilbert, Rusty Johnson, Shane Woodruff, Daniel Woodruff, Randall Brown and Grayson Blakney. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Rooker and T.J. Blakney. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Frances Lee Blakney.
