TISHOMINGO, MS – William Hal Holt, age 73, took his final wagon train to heaven on October 26, 2022. While on this earth he pastored Community Center Baptist Church in Red Bay, AL in the mid-90’s. He has been currently pastoring Landmark Baptist Church of Dennis, MS since 1999. He retired from Vulcan Materials after twenty-five years of service, to spend time with family and friends, horses and mules. He always put his “God”, his wife, family, friends and his mules first! He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time wagon training with his buddies and family. He was cheerful in all weather, never shirked a task and had splendid behavior and that big ole smile is going to be missed.

Services will be Sunday, October 30, 2 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church, Dennis, MS with Bro. Kevin Merritt and Bro. Rodney Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery, Tishomingo, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years – Jean Holt; daughter – Tracie Holt McCullar of Tishomingo, MS; son – Jeff Holt and wife, Blair of Tishomingo, MS; grandchildren – Brandon Pruitt, Sadie, Maylie and Bentley Holt and Bella Grace-Holton McCullar, all of Tishomingo, MS; great-grandson – Waylon Pruitt of Kokomo, IN; sisters – Mary Ruth Copeland, Shelia Enlow and husband, Wayne, all of Tishomingo, MS, Martha King and husband, Tommy of Saltillo, MS, Janet Crane and husband, Bruce of Belmont, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Ruthie Mae Holt, two brothers, Tom Holt and Leon Holt and a sister, Patricia Holt South.

Pallbearers will be Dean Talley, Gary Liles, Jamie, Jimmy Dale and Brownie Franks, Jake Hamm, Gary Northington, Anthony George, Brandon Pruitt and Bentley Holt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tishomingo County Wagon Train, Terry Mac Whitehead and Derrick Pharr.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 29, beginning at 6 p.m. and Sunday, October 30, 11-2 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church.
