Halo Studio: A Dream Realized on Belmont’s Main Street

BELMONT, Miss - Nestled in the heart of Belmont, Halo Studio is more than just a salon—it's the manifestation of a lifelong dream. For the owner, Alyssa Grubbs, the inspiration behind Halo Studio goes back to her childhood, where her passion for beauty and style first took root. "It all started with my Barbie dolls," she recalls with a smile. "I loved doing their hair and makeup, and as I grew older, I found myself styling friends for proms and weddings. The joy on their faces when they saw themselves in the mirror was priceless, and I knew I wanted to spend my life making others feel beautiful."

Halo Studio offers a range of services including hair, skin, nails, and massage therapy. "We also provide spray tans and have tanning bed packages," Grubb says. "Personally, I've developed a love for offering extensions, bridal makeup, and custom spray tans. My team of girls feels like family, and we're looking forward to expanding our services as we grow." The studio is already well-known in the community, but with plans to add additional skilled stylists, they aim to offer even more.

Getting Halo Studio off the ground wasn't without its challenges. "The hardest part was simply getting started," Grubbs admits. "As a young adult, I felt pressure to go to college because it seemed like the only path. I was discouraged from pursuing my dream, but eventually, I took the leap. It’s funny how life works—some of the people who doubted me are now my biggest supporters and best clients. Life really does come full circle."

The company culture at Halo Studio is one of warmth and inclusivity. "We want our salon to be so inviting that clients feel they can truly relax and enjoy every moment in our chair," she explains. "Each client holds a special place in our hearts. We wouldn't be here without them, and we hope they always feel our appreciation."

The connection to the local community is strong at Halo Studio. "As a former athlete at Belmont High School, I understand the importance of community," she says. "We’re proud sponsors of the Belmont Athletics Program, and it's our way of giving back to the town that has supported us."

For aspiring entrepreneurs, Grubb’s advice is clear: "Put God first in your business. Pray for it. I can’t thank God enough for every single answered prayer. Halo Studio is a brick-and-mortar example of His blessings and timing. It took hard work, but I owe it all to Him for making this possible."

Looking ahead, Halo Studio is excited to participate in upcoming local events. "We’ll be offering services like tinsel and feathers at the Bear Creek Festival, and we have several sip-and-shop events planned for the fall and winter. We encourage everyone to follow our Facebook page for updates and details."

Reflecting on the most rewarding aspect of her business, she shares, "It’s seeing others love who they see in the mirror. I've shared in some of the most special moments of my clients' lives—weddings, engagements, even baby announcements. There's nothing more fulfilling than helping someone feel amazing on their big day."

Choosing the location for Halo Studio was a journey in itself. "I always knew I wanted a salon on Main Street in Belmont," she says. "After starting my career in Iuka and spending a few great years at another salon, I saw a small space available for rent on Main Street in Belmont. We opened Halo Studio in June 2023. For months, the space we now call 'ours' sat empty, but after many prayers, it felt like God placed it in my hands. We officially opened at 107 Main Street in July 2024, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us."

Halo Studio is more than a business; it’s a dream brought to life, a testament to perseverance, faith, and the power of community.
