Hubert Allen Mitchell, 92, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Friday, June 2, 2023, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Mr. Mitchell was a member and deacon of New Hope Baptist Church in Hobart, IN, and attended Iuka Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired from Bethlehem Steel in Burns Harbor, IN. He enjoyed gardening and growing food for his family. He also loved reading and studying while enjoying his retirement. He is survived by five children, Tommy Allen Mitchell (Sherry), David Gerald Mitchell (Mary), Sharon Bell, Tim Mitchell (Kathleen), and Regina Arnold (Stanley); one sister, Barbara Gaines; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elnor Cook Mitchell; a daughter, Laura Lynn Mitchell; and a grandson, Joey Mitchell. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Dr. Johnny Hancock. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Pallbearers include Brian Parker, Dave Mitchell, Chad Mitchell, Stanley Arnold, Elijah Arnold, and Tim Mitchell. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Fund.
