Jimmy Gross, age 71 passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023. He was an active Church of Christ preacher for forty-seven years. Jimmy and his wife, Jennie operated The Pine Vale Children’s Home for more than seventeen years. He also loved Tennessee football. He was survived by his wife since December 1967, Jennie McAnally Gross; daughter, Sonni George Hodge; sons, Jimmy “Beau” Wayne Gross Jr. (Alison), Philip Lewis (Amy), and Devin Dickey (Heather); grandchildren, Anna Claire Ivy, Mary Ivy, Caroline Gross, Amy Oliver (Troy), Heather Rooney (Adam), Layla George, Juliana Dickey, and Alsie Dickey; great grandchildren, Easton, Foster, Lottie Kaye, Addie Grace, and Liam; sisters-in-law, Donna McAnally and Cathy Bonds. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Irene Gross; sister, Patty Booker; son-in-law, Gary George; parents-in-law, JJ and Hurtleen McAnally; brothers-in-law, David Bonds and Buddy McAnally. Visitation was Friday, May 12, 2023, at Iuka Church of Christ with a Memorial service following at noon. Officiating were Bro. Ben McAnally and Bro. Lance Foster.
