Betty Yow Strickland, 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.
She was born on December 2, 1935, in the Midway community of Tishomingo County to Jim and Etta Wood Yow. She was a member of Iuka Baptist Church. She had resided in Collierville, TN since 1977.
She is survived by her sister, Billie Hester (Junior Merle) of Niceville, FL; her children, Carolyn Bullard (Dr. Rick) of Tupelo, MS, Dana Ferry (Ebby) of Piperton, TN, Loretta Sommer (David) of Olive Branch, MS, and Jimmy Strickland (Nabilia) of Tampa, FL; her grandchildren, Nielsen Ferry (Lindsey), Lee Osteen (Autumn Baughn), Alexis Watson, and Austin Strickland; and her great-grandchildren, George, Cecelia, and Lucille Ferry and Emma Watson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dearl B. Strickland; her parents, Jim and Etta Yow; her sisters, Willard Philbin (James), Lois McKee, Roxie Yow, and Dimple Simone (Dan); and her brothers, J.E. Yow and Lloyd Yow.
Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M., at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Sean Glidewell. Burial will follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
