Elmer Eugene Butler, 81, of Tishomingo, Mississippi, died Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Butler was a member of Paden Baptist Church. He was a former bricklayer, and later worked as the maintenance supervisor for the Dennis Water Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting arrowheads. He also loved gardening, mowing his yard, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Butler; one son, Terry Butler (Shirley); one daughter, Tammie Wadkins (Jeff); one sister, Mary Ellen Johnson; six grandchildren, Cathia McNatt (Wesley), Chaylee Moore (Cole), Rumae Stroup (Ty), Brady Butler (Lexi), Chanda Ellis (Phil), and Tabitha Wadkins (Matt); and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ruby McCormick Butler; one grandchild, Nathan Wadkins; a great-grandchild, Nate Ellis; one brother, Malcolm Butler; and three sisters, Dorothy King, Betty Whitehead, and Carolyn Fisher.
Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, at Paden Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Earl Barron and Bro. Dwight South. Interment will follow in Allen Line Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, at Paden Baptist Church.
