Oliver Paul Nunley, age 96 passed away Friday, April 7, 2023. He served in the U.S. Navy and was one of the last remaining World War II veterans. He survived the war and lived to tell his amazing story to everyone he met. He loved playing music and singing country and gospel songs. He enjoyed karaoke and going to dances every Saturday at the Tishomingo County Fairgrounds. Mr. Nunley was a Christian and had a very strong personal faith. He is survived by his daughters, Cathye Graham (Steve) and Allison Renate Newton (Scott); grandchildren, Holly Graham, Kyle Newton, Cole Newton, and Morgan Evans (Eric). He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Perry Nunley and Nora Vaughn Nunley; first wife mother to his children, Dorothy Wilemon Nunley; second wife, Bobbie Nunley; daughter, Teresa Zimmerman; grandson, Hunter Graham. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Ludlam Funeral Home, Iuka, from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Following will be the Memorial Service held at noon at Ludlam Funeral Home Chapel. Ludlam Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Oliver Paul Nunley.
