Shirley Johnson Gould, 84, of Iuka passed away Tuesday, October 4th, 2022 at the Mississippi Care Center in Corinth. She was a Christian, and a member of the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Iuka. She was born July 23, 1938 in Kentucky. She worked as a secretary until her retirement.
Locally, there will be a celebration of life for Shirley Saturday, October 22nd at Fifth Street Baptist. There was another family celebration of life October 8th, 2022 at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Kevel, Kentucky.
In her passing, she leaves her beloved spouse of many years, Benny Weathers, who was there for her every day. Her family appreciated his kindness and faithfulness during her illness and recognized his support and love for Shirley at the Kentucky event.
Also left to mourn her are her stepdaughter Linda Gould Ashley (Matthew); daughter Robbie Lewis; granddaughters Debra Bedocs Duck (Ed) and Amanda; four great-grandchildren: Kandy Randall (Tyler); Jason Duck (Kelli); Nathan Bedocs, Reston Bedocs; and five great-great-grandchildren: Cayden, Trinity, Colton, Elise, and Maddie. Also, two sisters: Georgie Johnson Thorpe (Lynn); and Jeanie DeBay (Bruce.)
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Johnson and Corzette Johnson, a sister, Joy Parez, and a daughter, Cindy Greer.
