Maria Suzanne “Susie” Walker, 73, of Cape Carteret, North Carolina, formerly of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, North Carolina. Born in Iuka, Mississippi, Maria grew up near J.P. Coleman State Park on her family’s land. She retired in 2000 and moved to Cape Carteret, North Carolina. She spent her professional career in the metro Detroit area of Michigan where she had a successful career as a regional representative for the Adrian Arpel cosmetic line, was the founder of Totally Maria’s Beauty Salon, and launched a private label cosmetic line in the late 1980s. Maria’s family remembers her many adventures - hang gliding in Acapulco, Mexico, riding motorcycles across the country to see the Grand Canyon and Mt. Rushmore, camping in Up North Michigan or the Smokey Mountains, and going shopping for the day in New York or Chicago. She was also a survivor of many things, including life-changing cancers. Everyone who crossed paths with Maria saw her bright light, and knew she was full of happiness. She could talk to anyone and they’d walk away friends, and for her family and friends, she didn’t hold back in doing for others or being their #1 fan. She is survived by her husband, Walter R. Jennfeldt; her daughter, Catherine S. Lockman (Dale S. Pratt); and her grandson, Brandon R. Pratt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Irma Walker. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, Mississippi is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 1 p.m. at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Bro. Jerry Bonds. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon R. Pratt, Walter Jennfeldt, F. Joseph Walker, and Ronnie Walker. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
