Howard Junior Whitehurst, 92, of Iuka, MS, died on Friday, October 7, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and making honey. Howard was a member of Campground United Methodist Church and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. He loved his family, was the best dad ever and a great stepdad. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Ann Whitehurst; his daughters, Debbie W. Gurley (Billy), Janice W. Winters, and Cynthia W. Hughes (Ronnie); his stepdaughter, Debbie H. Smith; his stepson, Michael Hurst; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Howard and Minnie King Whitehurst; his son, Ronnie Neal Whitehurst; and his siblings, Hubert Whitehurst, Hazel Bishop, Shelby Whitehurst, Beatrice Stricklin, and Fannie Ruth Whitehurst. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Services will be on Monday, October 10, 2022, at 1:00 P.M., at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Bro. Jerry Bonds. Burial will be in Box Chapel Cemetery.
